Cool Petaluma, in partnership with the City of Petaluma, welcome you all to our second annual Expo!

We are excited to bring you face-to-face with the amazing local resources our community has to offer as we continue on our journey to becoming more resilient and more planet-friendly, block by block, neighborhood by neighborhood. 

It is going to be a fantastic evening for connecting and sharing. Please join us and bring your friends and neighbors. Everyone is invited to check out this FREE event!

Worried about dinner? We will have great food to fill your belly, including organic, locally sourced vegan and non-vegan meals and drinks by Tacos Don Pepe. (If you want to be super cool, bring your own plate/fork/cup!)

Have kids in tow? We will have craft projects to keep them entertained including:

  • Watercolor paints that are completely biodegradable, edible, natural, and easy to replicate at home.

  • Live Oak Charter School mending circle with sewing, patching, and repairing demonstrations.

Want to get there by bike? West Petaluma people meet at Walnut Park leaving at 4:30 p.m., then head down Lynch Creek Trail to Lucchesi Park and the Community Center.

Who will be there?

  • City of Petaluma Emergency Manager - Disaster Preparedness in the context of overall community building.

  • City of Petaluma Public Works and Utilities - In addition to the regular services provided, they also provides emergency services to the residents of Petaluma during events such as extreme weather and flooding.

  • City of Petaluma Fire Prevention - There are many steps you can take to help the Fire Department do its job. Learn how you can be prepared in the face of home fire danger.

  • Auxiliary Communications Services - Learn about amateur radio and Auxiliary Communication Services. Talk to volunteer Ham radio operators who will be activated for a disaster to provide redundant communications, reporting to the Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management.

  • California Sunlight Corporation - Demonstration of solar generators, solar EV charger, solar lighting, and solar cooking.

  • Recology Sonoma Marin - A fundamental shift from traditional waste management to resource recovery.

  • 350 Petaluma/Zero Waste - Reduce consumption and waste, share resources, and advocate for zero waste policies.

  • Fibershed - Soil-to-soil model of growing, processing and consuming regional textiles through Climate Beneficial Agriculture.

  • Rusty Hinges Ranch - Partnering with local farmers and food artisans to curate climate-friendly, sustainably-sourced and cruelty-free meals. Their weekly recipes and grocery bundles make it easy to feed your family with food you can feel good about.

  • Refill Mercantile - Low waste non toxic products for the home and body and customers can refill their products in their refillery.

  • Live Oak Charter School - Mending demonstrations to teach us how to repair and upcycle our clothes.

  • Agricultural Community Events Farmers Markets - Promoting farmers' markets, a great way to support local farmers and businesses while lowering your carbon footprint.

  • Jupiter Foods - When Jupiter Foods says, "We Know Your Farmer" they mean it. Two Sonoma County Farmers who supply Jupiter Foods with produce will be on hand to help you navigate the confusing world of "Local" agriculture.

  • Sustainvest Asset Management - Investment and financial planning that protects you and your family while focusing on sustainable and responsible investing (SRI) that aligns client values with goals.

  • Electric Vehicle Showcase - Local owners of electric cars, trucks, scooters, and bikes for you to check out! City of Petaluma Public Works and Utilities and the Petaluma Municipal Airport are even bringing an assortment of electric vehicles equipment.

  • Rebuilding Together - Energy efficiency upgrades and home electrification to low-income homeowners, especially homeowners living in mobile parks, with community support, and information on how the community can support this effort.

  • SPAN - Whole-home energy management system that enables every home for high-value electrification upgrades like EV chargers, heat pumps, solar power systems, and battery storage.
