Carbon Gardening Happy Hour, part 2: Beyond Your Backyard

Come grab dinner or drinks and join us for a conversation about ways to drawdown and store carbon in soil!

For this second event in our Carbon Gardening series, join Ann Baker: landscape architect and Petaluma Climate Action Commissioner; and Dr. Jeff Creque: co-founder of Marin Carbon Project and Carbon Cycle Institute for happy hour at Aqus! Arrive at 5:30 to grab dinner or drinks and settle in. At 6pm, Ann and Jeff will kick things off with a brief overview of the work they do, local initiatives to drawdown and store carbon, and opportunities to amplify those efforts. We'll keep the program brief so that you can direct the discussion toward what you're interested in: soil science, carbon farming plans, what the Climate Action Commission is up to, and so on! You'll have plenty of opportunity to interact with our presenters and your fellow community members, so come with questions, stories, suggestions and a healthy dose of curiosity! Happy hour runs from 5-7pm; food and drink will be available for purchase until 7pm.

This event is part two of a three-event series on carbon gardening. Click here for part three, which will focus on the ways that water affects climate, drought, and flooding, as well as ways we can design our home landscapes to address these impacts, including the use of alternative water strategies like rainwater harvesting and graywater systems.
